Hatha and Yin Yoga classes
for all ages and ability levels.
Don’t believe the myth that you need to be flexible to do yoga - everybody can benefit from practising yoga!

The Practice of Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a beautiful style of yoga that is centred around the breath - the breath drives the rhythm of the body movement. This has a wonderful calming effect on the mind as well as the nervous system. The body is able to relax. But there’s more! From this relaxed attitude, we find we are then able to safely stretch and strengthen our bodies.

Yoga will benefit us whether we calm our minds, rest our bodies and/or give some quality time for ourselves.
The yoga master Krishanamacharya described it like this:

“In the practice of Yoga one can emphasize the body, the mind or the self and
hence the effort can never be fruitless”

Start Your Yoga Journey!

I invite you to start your very own yogic journey to experience the life-changing benefits of yoga! In this modern day we are so very often over-stretched, stressed, as we try to keep up with what can feel like an ever-increasing pace of life. Let’s bring ourselves back into balance using the ancient practice of yoga.

Hatha Yoga

We use the breath as our guide to slow down and find our centre. We then use a variety of sequences and postures to build strength and encourage flexibility. This practice can be energising or deeply relaxing depending on what is needed.
“Hatha” literally stands for “sun” and “moon” - this symbolises the bringing into balance the opposites such as hot/cold, light/dark, feminine and masculine energies.

Yin Yoga

All floor-based postures either seated or lying down, we adopt postures to hold statically for longer. This gently works to release the myofascial tissue which wraps around the muscles. This practice is deeply relaxing and invokes a still mind.
“Yin” refers to the Chinese Yin Yang term - you may be familiar with the black/white symbol. Yin energy is the soft, feminine side contrasting with Yang which is hard, masculine.

Reviews by my lovely students :-)

I have been going to Sarah for prenatal yoga throughout my pregnancy. The sessions have helped me with strengthening the pelvic floor, I feel really flexible and relaxed after the practise.
Sarah tailors the class depending on how I feel, and I notice that any aches and pain feel much better after the class.  I have no doubt that Sarah helped me have a relatively easy pregnancy and to maintain a positive mindset.

Sarah’s yin yoga classes are always so relaxing and leave me feeling super relaxed. She demonstrates each pose, giving possible modifications, and explains how each pose is benefiting the body. Would highly recommend Sarah’s classes.
